Meet Faye Court
Lead Therapist & Assistant Psychologist
Faye Court is Co-Director and Lead Therapist at Compass Educational Psychology. She holds a BSc in Psychology and Counselling and a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Working also as an Assistant Psychologist under the clinical supervision of Dr Pierre Court, Faye supports children, families, and schools through background gathering, consultations, school-based observations, and the delivery of agreed interventions.
Faye provides a warm, non-judgemental therapeutic space grounded in person-centred values. Her work emphasizes empathy and emotional safety, building a relationship where individuals feel genuinely understood. She supports those experiencing anxiety, stress, and life transitions, with a particular interest in women’s mental health, self-care, and the role of supportive relationships in promoting wellbeing.
As the founder of The Self Care Hour, Faye also encourages reflection and emotional awareness through creative and therapeutic approaches. In her dual roles, she contributes to the wider aim of Compass Educational Psychology by supporting children and adults through thoughtful, compassionate, and psychologically informed practice.
Meet Dr Pierre Court
Educational Psychologist & Therapeutic Practitioner
Alongside his role as Lead Educational Psychologist at Compass, Dr Court holds qualifications in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy and is trained to deliver Single Session Therapy. He offers a focused, evidence-informed therapeutic approach for individuals requiring specialist support.
There may be times when ongoing support from an Educational Psychologist is an appropriate intervention for a child, young person or family. This can be particularly helpful where emotional wellbeing, learning, development, behaviour, relationships or access to education are closely connected.
Within the counselling offer at Compass Educational Psychology, Pierre may provide psychologically informed intervention where an Educational Psychology perspective would be beneficial. His approach is collaborative, reflective and child-centred, helping individuals, families and professionals better understand difficulties and identify practical ways forward.
What To Expect
Counselling at Compass is a space to slow down, reflect, and begin to feel better — at a pace that works for you.
A warm, welcoming first session
Your first session is simply a chance to talk. There’s no pressure and no agenda — just an opportunity to get to know your Compass practitioner and share what’s brought you here.
A safe, confidential space
Everything discussed in your Compass sessions remains confidential. You’re free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, in your own time.
Practical tools you can take away
Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, your Compass practitioner will work with you to explore strategies and techniques you can use beyond the session in your everyday life.
What areas do we cover?
Compass Educational Psychology is based in Somerset and works directly with schools and families across the South West of England, including Devon, Dorset, Bristol and beyond. Dr Pierre Court regularly travels across the region to carry out assessments, consultations and training in person.
For schools and families across the wider United Kingdom, we are happy to travel nationally for assessments and whole-school training where needed. Virtual appointments are also available to clients anywhere in the country, making specialist educational psychology support accessible wherever you are.
For international requests, whether from families based abroad or organisations seeking specialist input — we are happy to discuss travel and remote options. Please get in touch via our Contact page to discuss your location and requirements.
