Working in education and psychology for over 15 years, Compass brings deep expertise, warmth and a collaborative spirit to every case — from complex psychological assessments to whole-school wellbeing.

Founded in 2023, Compass Educational Psychology grew out of Dr Pierre Court’s long-standing commitment to bridging the gap between therapeutic support, mental health and educational contexts. With a Doctorate in Educational, Child and Community Psychology and qualifications in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy, Dr Court brings a rare breadth of perspective to every case.
From working directly with local authorities and independent schools across the South West of England & Overseas, to publishing peer-reviewed research and authoring a book on adolescent social media use — Compass is built on a foundation of evidence-led, human-centred practice.
This commitment has since grown to include ongoing therapeutic support led by Faye Court (Lead Therapist), providing children, young people, parents and adults with a compassionate space to explore emotional wellbeing, build self-understanding and feel supported beyond assessment alone.
Our name reflects our purpose: to help families, schools and young people find their direction.

Expanding Our Support
The team at Compass Educational Psychology is expanding, allowing us to offer a
broader range of support to children, young people, families and educational
settings. There may be times when we feel that additional specialist input would be
helpful, such as a Speech and Language Therapy assessment, Paediatric
assessment or Occupational Therapy assessment.
Where this is recommended, we
will discuss this with you clearly and sensitively, and provide all the information you
need to understand the next steps. Where appropriate, we can also signpost you to
trusted partner services so that support feels joined-up, informed and easy to
navigate.

What areas do we cover?
Compass Educational Psychology is based in Somerset and works directly with schools and families across the South West of England, including Devon, Dorset, Bristol and beyond. Dr Pierre Court regularly travels across the region to carry out assessments, consultations and training in person.
For schools and families across the wider United Kingdom, we are happy to travel nationally for assessments and whole-school training where needed. Virtual appointments are also available to clients anywhere in the country, making specialist educational psychology support accessible wherever you are.
